day 91: proudest

Military 30-day Photo Challenge Day 15: Post a pic of your proudest moment of your Marine and explain why

Would you be surprised at this point if I said I have more than one? :) Cause I do.

But, I'll stick with one. The most recent one.

Ever since he wore a Marine Corps t-shirt for his kindergarten school picture, ASC has looked forward to the day he became a Gunny, a Gunnery Sergeant of Marines. This past September, it happened. The 11th, exactly, and what a great ceremony to have on such a day. And guess what. I got to be one of the two people to pin on his new rank, because he credited me with being a huge influence to him and why he had made it so far; the other was his uncle, a former Marine himself, and a big influence on ASC to enter the Marines in the first place.

Pride oozed from my very core that day.

(and that doesn't even come close to explaining just how proud I am of this man....or how much I miss him....and love him....etc)
