day 82: dwyer

Military Photo Challenge Day 6: Post a pic of the base your Marine is at and 5 cool things about that base

Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan, is Aaron's not so sweet home away from home.

I can't pinpoint it on a map for you, even if I tried....but I'm sure Google can.

Cool things?

1.) Quite literally, there is not much cool there, since the average daily high temp seems to be over 100 degrees this time of year (or, at least that's what ASC tells me).

2.) Can I count a sand storm as cool, even if I've never been in one, and even though I know they probably aren't all that cool to be in?

3.) Mark Wahlberg (perpetually Marky Mark in my book) visited there last year.

4.) ASC does have AC in his office/building/whatever it is, pictured above.

5.) The thing that makes this one location the coolest of all is that my own husband is there, which logically makes it a cool place. (brownie points for that one? can you tell I don't know much about Dwyer?)
