day 3: defeated
That's how I'm feeling today.
A little defeated.
Yesterday was warm and sunny.
Today, the air is chilled and raindrops keep falling.
At school, my to-do list seems to grow exponentially.
I hate being behind, yet that's constantly where I am.
At home, I feel that everywhere I look is a mess to pick up.
An area that screams, "Organize me, please."
Rooms that whimper, "I am way too small."
Two days ago was my fifth trip to a doctor or the hospital.
Still no answers to the issues I've been having.
Tests are still negative or inconclusive.
Which, of course, calls for more tests.
Three bright spots to this gray day.
1.) Texts from ASC came pouring in after 1:00 this afternoon, right before he was headed to bed. Still jetlagged. Has some traveling to do tomorrow. (My text tone went off at 3 am this morning, too. It read, "Hey." That was it. :)
2.) The mailbox held surprises for us. We each had a card in the mail from you-know-who. Just to say he loved us. A few tears.
3.) An impromptu stop at Michaels on the way home. I left there feeling like I had robbed them. For $17, I got a new badly-needed paper trimmer and 200 sheets of scrapbook paper (huge clearance hit plus a stellar coupon). How can one say no to scrapbook paper on clearance? Certainly not a 12x12 paper collector like me.
Now, though, there are kids fighting. And crying. And whining.
And all my messes haven't magically disappeared.
And my bag of schoolwork I brought home has yet to be opened.
Here's hoping this weekend is just what I need.....
