day 10: DSN

I know way more acronyms than I should.
Of those many I know, only a small handful of them can I tell you exactly what they stand for. For a larger number of them, I can tell you what a few of the letters stand for. For the majority of them, I can tell you what it means, what it does, what it's for, etc.
DSN (I'm thinking perhaps the "N" is for "number", and I know I can Google it, but that's besides the point) means that Aaron can call home. Knowing that is good enough for me.
You'd be surprised what all we can fit into a 15 minute phone call. Tonight's quick summary:
- what happened in my evening's excursion with my sister-in-law
- who watched the girls while I was gone
- the general differences between Camp Leatherneck and Camp Dwyer
- the weather
- his living conditions
- the silver-dollar sized blister on the bottom of his foot and the story behind it
- how things are going with the guys he's deployed with
- a list of things to send in a package to him (whoops....forgot to get his mailing address)
- a few things that he does NOT want me to send to him
- the weather here, including the story about the hail we got on Wednesday
- when he hopes to be able to call next
- a few minutes chatting with Reagan (who was the only kid still awake at 11 pm)
I don't honestly care what those three letters stand for; I'm just thrilled to get to hear the voice on the other end of that phone call.
