day 73: little things
I didn't see this one coming.
School was out (for the summer, by the way), and I made the few necessary preparations before coming back to school to kick off the graduation program before picking up 2 of the girls from the sitter's. Got them, got in the car.....and cried. The girls were a little alarmed because they didn't see this coming either.
"Mom, are you okay?"
"No."
"Mom, why are you crying?"
"Because I don't have to come here again."
We have been coming to our babysitter's house for years now. It's a routine, part of our day. Or....it was. With McK starting kindergarten in the fall, I will not need daycare for any of my kids for the first time in a long time. No more babies. No more toddlers. Big kids. Who are growing up before I even realize it.
Kennedy was still trying her best to console me.
"Well, Mom, isn't this a good thing? Cause it means we're moving on to other things and growing up!"
Nope. Didn't help.
Am I getting more sentimental the older I get?
These little things are too big for me.
