day 44: an obsession with fireflies
"Mom! This song makes me miss Daddy, but I want to hear it!" yelled Reagan from the backseat. On the way to school this morning, my iPod was yet again on shuffle, and "Fireflies" by Owl City came on, loud and clear.
I let it play and let Reagan sing along loudly from the back of the car, and I thought how funny it was that she so clearly thinks of her Dad when she hears this song.
When we went to see him in NC in January, this song was playing on his iPod when we walked into his hotel room. That, to my knowledge, is the only time that the girls have been with him when that song has played. Which tells me that they have such a good memory ingrained in the lyrics and music to this techno-sounding ditty.
R's favorite line in the whole song is, "I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes", which she always follows with a soft whisper of "Me, too."
Me, too, Reagan.
Me, too.
