perfectly and aptly named

Day 2 of summer.
It's 9:17.  Today, only one kid is awake with me....seems they figured out that sleeping in is a necessity (or perhaps that's only because we finally forced them to bed at 11:20?).
A batch of Cinnamon Toast Cake is in the oven, just about done.  It's one of my mom's originals, and it will match perfectly with my already half-drunk cup of coffee.
The Today Show is on tv, since the awake child is reading her newest chapter book from the library.  Inspired by yesterday's trip, where points and prizes were waggled in front of her like a carrot, she and her sisters are reading like fiends.
Ah, Day 2.  I like your arrival already.

Yesterday, a word threw itself at us.
We've been anticipating it for 3 months now.
Not completely sure what it'd look like.
Not certain how we'd feel about it when it did get here.
Still, here it is:
pending.

We had an offer for our house on Friday, and with all the pieces falling into place, yesterday the house moved into "sale pending".
It's a relief.
A weight ever-so-slightly removed.
A thrill to know that meticulously staging my home for yet another showing can be done.
Yet now we still get to sit and wait until the next step.

Pending.
The word sounds fittingly perfect for everything right now.
Dictionary.com lists it as "while awaiting; until; in the period before or the conclusion of; during".
Yep, hit the nail on the head there.

Pending the sale of our house.
Pending the finishing of our new house.
Pending moving in to the new house.
Pending the birth of baby #4.
Pending deciding her name.
Pending two months of maternity leave.
Pending two 4-H projects that need to get done.
Pending......everything.
Our life, now, is pending.
It can sound a tad bit uncertain, scary, unspecific.
Yet like a friend emailed me yesterday, "God knows exactly what you need right now."
I'll rest in that....

So today.
Here's my challenge: Aldi's.
As frugal as I am, I've never ever shopped there before.
Cause I've always feared they don't carry everything I need, which would hence require a second trip to another grocery spot.  And time was vital.  But now, it's summer.....and I think I'll chance it this once.
So I'm going to see if Aldi's can check off all the items on my list, for the lowest price.....and I'll keep you posted.

Consider it pending :)
