pages turned
A year ago, I was dreading the upcoming days.
Then, I only had 3 more left until his short 2-weeks at home for Christmas were exhausted.
I held his hand every chance I could.
Sat as close to him as possible.
Tried to wake up a few minutes before he did, just so I could watch him sleep.
I still do all this today (well, minus the sleep thing).
But today is a different day.
Today he officially goes off orders.
No more active duty.
I think tomorrow will feel like turning the page in a book, the one that ends a chapter, a chapter that wasn't my favorite one in the book, even though it had a few exciting parts.
But don't you fret.....the upcoming chapters, just pages away, are riveting (well, at least in my feeble mind they are). A new house....a baby....hold on, cause we're turning the page....

Yay! I miss your words. And you, of course ;)
ReplyDeleteHave to admit I have missed your daily musings, but so happy for you and that you are enjoying your family together! Congratulations on the house and baby! Any chance we will see you next weekend at the lodge?
